Principal’s Message

Acharya Atre Vikas Pratishthan Purandar’s Sharadchandraji Pawar College, Jejuri is situated in the lap of a beautiful tamarind orchid planted by Maratha Lady Rular, Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar 250 years ago. The college has been endeavouring to become the hub of the creation of competent and skilled citizens for the nation employing education, culture, sports etc. It strives to equip youths to face the challenges of the twenty-first century.

I am delighted to share the objectives of the establishment of Acharya Atre Vikas Pratishthan Purandar’s Sharadchandraji Pawar College, Jejuri which is situated in the lap of a beautiful tamarind orchid planted by Maratha Lady Rular, Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar 250 years ago. Our college is established in 1991 to cater the need of the higher education in the programs of B.A., B.Com. & M.Com. to the students of this vicinity. The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra. It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore for the third time. Since the establishment of this college, more than 3000 girls and boys students have been graduated. The graduates of this college are now working in the various companies, schools and social sectors. If this college had not been established in Jejuri, many girl students might have been deprived of the higher education. As our college is located in drought prone area, most of the students belong to farmers and daily wages worker’s family. Many students are not able to pay the admission fees too. The aim of the establishment this college is to develop this vicinity by providing quality education. Keeping this aim in the mind, our management always helps to pay the fees of the needy students.

For the last twenty years, the college has been constantly giving an opportunity of education to the rural students. I believe that the destination is not the only goal of the journey but the journey too offers many rewards to its traveller. Every year about five hundred youths of the rural area are brought to the doorstep of higher education by this college. Thus, a bond is built and extended towards the villages and communities in our vicinity through the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that we try to implement effectively.
